"As a conservator and binding historian, I believe in ‘laying a light hand’ on the books I care for and repair, preserving as much of the original material, structure and feel of the volume in question as possible.  I design my repairs to be structurally and archivally sound, whilst causing the least disturbance possible to the original binding.

From small repairs to individual leaves to major structural work, I aim to make my work a subtle intervention which preserves the function as well as the aesthetics of the book. Repairs are designed to be unobtrusive but detectable on close inspection, and not to prejudice study, enjoyment and further work in subsequent generations."
